Alice E. Sierota, 83, of Black River, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023.

 

Born November 3, 1939, to Joseph and Helen (Szwatkowski) Wojciechowski in Detroit, MI, she was raised in Romulus.  On September 17, 1960, she married Robert E. Sierota in Romulus, and they were residents of Canton.  They moved to their home in Black River in 2002.  Alice was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Black River.  A devoted homemaker, she enjoyed baking and cooking Polish foods for her family.  She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and playing cards and Mahjong. 

 

Alice is survived by her husband, Robert, three children, Kimberly Ann Sierota, Steven Joseph (Susan) Sierota, and Robert Matthew (Kelly) Sierota, seven grandchildren, Jessica Lynn (Stuart) Greer, Jeffrey Robert Hickey, Ian Matthew Sierota, Claire Emmeline Sierota, Robert James (Chelsea) Kidder, Steven Robert Sierota, and Kyle Joseph Sierota, two great grandchildren, Henry Edward Greer and Raelynn Jade Kidder, as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her son Michael Sierota, three sisters, Edna Szymanski, Rosella Nawrocki, and Carol Wojciechowski, and two brothers, Joseph and Charles Wojciechowski.

 

Visitation will be at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 3:00 until the Rosary service at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will continue at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Black River from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be in St. Anne Cemetery, Harrisville.  Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
