James J. Coomes

James J. Coomes, 60, of Harrisville, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at his home. Born April 16, 1957, to James R. and Dorothy (Hier) Coomes in Monroe, MI, he was raised in Waterford. Jim was a big brother in every sense and he stepped up after the death of his father. Jim later moved to Harrisville from California to care for his mother. He attended St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville. Jim loved golfing, watching sports, and spending time with his family. Jim is survived by his mother, Dorothy Coomes of Harrisville, five sisters, Joan (Tom) Burns, Nancy (David) Grover, Leslie (Kevin) Brandon, Mary Lee, and Patricia (Duane) Campbell, one brother, Patrick (Marie) Coomes, ten nieces and nephews, and one great nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, James R. Coomes, two infant brothers, and his brother-in-law, Bob Lee. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
