Roger L. Panich

Roger Lawrence Panich, 80, of Harrisville, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at his home. He was born December 7, 1936 in Detroit, MI, to John and Ruth (Depp) Panich. He was raised in Detroit and Allen Park, MI. He graduated from Allen Park High School in 1955. Mr. Panich enlisted in the Air Force in 1957 and served until 1961. He married Kathleen Higgison on September 12, 1964 at Angelica Lutheran Church in Allen Park. He was a police officer in Allen Park Police Department and retired in 1979. He moved to Harisville in 1983 where he pursued his love of gardening. He volunteered for 20 years as a facilitator for a depression group in Alpena and Oscoda MI. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, two sons, Jeff (Billie) Panich of Spruce MI, and Steve (Michelle) Panich of Harrisville, MI, 2 grandchildren, Kevin and Darien Panich, his brother Thomas (Patricia) Panich of Knoxville, TN, and his constant companion, his yellow lab Daisy. Mr. Panich is at Gillies Funeral Home, in Lincoln, where friends may call on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 3:00 PM until the funeral service at 4:00 PM. Rev. Timothy Azzam will officiate.
