Thomas N. Ronayne

Thomas N. Ronayne, 73, of Spruce, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region Hospital. Born April 20, 1944 to Raymond and Lena (McKelvy) Ronayne in Detroit, MI, he was raised there. He graduated from Redford High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University. Tom served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed a long career as a software engineer. On July 4, 1993, he married Diane Woods in Berkley. They were residents of Detroit before moving to Spruce in 2008. Tom was a member of the Ossineke Eagles Aerie 3762, and of the Engineer’s Society of Detroit. He enjoyed his computer, sharing emails all over the world. Tom was an avid reader, who had a great knowledge of American and English history. He is survived by his wife, Diane, three sons, Nicholas, Jason, and David Ronayne, one grandson, Jason Ronayne Jr., one great grandson, his step-daughter, Lisa Tyrrell, and one sister, Kathy (Tom) Steelman. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
