Barbara Henderson

Barbara Henderson, 89, passed away peacefully at Sally’s Care Home in Alpena on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. She was born on October 13, 1927, in Saginaw, MI, to Fred and Norma “Lottie” (Dean) Thorsby. Barbara and John Hall Henderson I were married on March 20, 1948 in Saginaw, where she worked as a medical transcriptionist. She has been a resident of Saginaw, Harrisville, and West Branch before retiring to Alpena. Barbara had a great mind for trivia, she loved crossword puzzles, solitaire, and visiting with her family. Barbara is survived by four daughters, Barbara Rogers, Laura (Gerald) Labaza, Ingrid Henderson, and Cheryl (Randy) Hill, 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Nancy Thorsby. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hall Henderson I in March of 1982, one son, John Hall Henderson II in July of 2014, and two sisters, Joan and Norma. Burial services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the Oakwood Cemetery in Saginaw, MI at 11 AM. Arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
