Julia E. Atchison

Julia E. Atchison, 91, of Harrisville, passed away on Thursday, February 23rd, at her home, surrounded by her family. Julia Eve Slater was born on Nov. 27, 1925, in Flint, MI, the youngest of 11 children born to Arthur & Anna (LaMont) Slater. She married Edward E. Atchison on Oct 13, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2007. She was a little lady full of life, she enjoyed singing in the choir, dancing and enjoyed walking. She was a lifelong member of the Harrisville United Methodist Church. Julia is survived by 2 sons, Dennis (Janet) Atchison, and Edward K.(Janelle) Atchison, four grandchildren, Sabrina Lopshire; Julie Shutes; Marie Breier; and Christopher Atchison, seven great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Vivian Gray. She was preceded in death by ten siblings. The family would like to thank her many friends and family that visited, called and prayed for her during her illness. A special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Michigan for their wonderful care and support. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. A celebration of Julia’s life will be announced at a future date. It would be a delight to see this brightly clad, little lady walking around the streets of Heaven as she did here on Earth.
