Regina R. Bernard

Regina R. Bernard, 94, of Mikado, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 at her home. Born July 28, 1922 to Willie and Alexandrine (Gonyea) Boutin in Montreal, Canada, she was raised in River Rouge, MI. Regina was known as a hard worker. On November 6, 1949, she married Charles Bernard in River Rouge, where they were longtime residents. They owned and operated The Greenwoods cabins in AuSable. Charles preceded her in death on August 27, 2006. Regina moved to Mikado in 2012. She loved to be outside, and especially enjoyed walking. Regina is survived by her daughter Denise (Dan) Gonzalez of Mikado, and three great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Cherokee, and Christian Gonzalez. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Bernard, two grandsons, Christian and Aaron Gonzalez, two great granddaughters, Theresa and Amanda Bernard, two sisters, Theresa Sanchez and Evette West, and one brother, Lionel Boutin. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
