Dewella Jean Whitford

Dewella Jean Whitford nee Frayer, 74, of Glennie, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at McLaren-Flint. Born on April 3, 1942, to Stanley and Ruth (Everett) Frayer in Harrisville, she was raised in Mikado. Jean married Larry Whitford on November 5, 1960, in Mikado. She was heavily involved with the community, especially through the women’s softball league and as a little league coach. Along with being a Curtis Township Trustee for 12 years, Jean also loved to shoot pool. Jean is survived by her husband, Larry; three sons, Evan Cecil (Lisa) Whitford of Glennie, Phillip Lee (Trudy) Whitford of Glennie, and Larry Todd (Kelly) Whitford, of Oscoda; one daughter, Cinthia Ann Whitford of Glennie; and two grandchildren, Katherine (Mike) Spencer and Brooke Elizabeth Whitford. She was preceded in death by six siblings. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at the Glennie United Methodist Church. Rev. Charles Sheldon will officiate.
