Dorothy E. Procunier

Dorothy E. Procunier, 99, of Greenbush, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at Lincoln Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Born October 9, 1916, to William and Ida (Schnidt) Boehme in Detroit, MI, she lived there until 1926, when she moved to Alcona County. Dorothy served in the U.S. Navy, and was honorably discharged in 1943. On June 5, 1948, she married Leslie ‘Lynn” Procunier in Greenbush, where they resided. She was very active in her community, participating in Fire Department activities, including the Chicken BBQ. Dorothy was an avid golfer, and enjoyed working at the Seed Growers, and at the Lamplighter. She is survived by her husband, Lynn, son, Mike (Diane Kaub) Procunier of Bangor, MI, one grandson, Jeremiah (Pryca) Procunier, one great grandson, Caine Procunier, and two nephews, Gary Martin of Greenbush, and David (Marilyn) Martin of AZ. She was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley (Oscar “Shorty”) Martin. Mrs. Procunier is at Gillies Funeral Home, Harrisville, where friends may call on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 3:00 PM until the funeral service at 4:00 PM. Rev. A.C. Caincross will officiate.
