Jerry D. Hughes

Jerry D. Hughes, 77, of Spruce, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Mr. Hughes was a longtime resident of Spruce, after retiring from the Detroit Police Department in 1998 as sergeant. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, two sons, Ronald (Amy) Hughes of Redford, and Gregory (Jennifer) Hughes of Royal Oak, ten grandchildren, Ian Hammill, Beccy, Andrew, Lauren, Jack, Cassidy, Matthew, Kaylee, Jessilyn, and Benjamin Hughes, and two brothers, Ronnie (Grace) Hughes of Spruce and Jimmie (Kathy) Hughes of Dallas. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. A memorial service will be held this spring at Great Lakes National Cemetery, in Holly, MI.
