Eleanor R. Mead

Eleanor R. Mead, age 78, of Lincoln passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015, at St Joseph Mercy Hospital of Ann Arbor. She was born March 18, 1937 In Toledo Ohio to Arthur and Helen (Oliger) Hartwig. Raised in Bay City, Eleanor graduated from Bay City Central High School. On October 15, 1960 she married Robert Mead in Lincoln. They were Lincoln residents for many years. Eleanor was a devoted homemaker and several years ago enjoyed playing for the Lincoln Larks Softball Team. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Michele (David) Schneider of Flower Mound Texas, three grandchildren, Kari, Gregory, and Douglas Schneider, two sisters, Violet (Henry) Harden of Saginaw and Pat (Bill) Andrews of Kawkawlin, three brothers, Richard (Lorraine), Robert and Gerald Hartwig of Bay City and one sister in law, Kay Hartwig of Bay City, Two sisters, Margorie (Charles) York and Bonnie Jean (Arnold) Henderson and three brothers, Thomas (Romaine), Arthur Jr. and James Hartwig preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Her family will receive visitors beginning at 1:00 P.M..
