Roy Frederick Harmon Jr., 79, of Barton City, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born July 23, 1935 to Roy “Fred and Mary “Blanche” (Katona) Harmon Sr. in Hammond, Indiana, he was raised in Lincoln. Roy served in the U.S. Army. On February 3, 1962, he married Kaye Henderson in Lapeer. They were residents of Drayton Plains, MI, while Roy worked as a lineman with Jacobs Electric in Troy. He was a member of the Local #17 IBEW. In 1977, he moved to Barton City. Roy was a member of the Barton City VFW Burger Wiedbrauk Post #8135, the Barton City Eagles Aerie #4141, and of the Alcona Lodge #292, F. & A.M. He enjoyed the outdoors, and liked to hunt and fish. Roy is survived by three children, Beverly Harmon of Barton City, Thomas (Veonica) Harmon of Barton City, and Barbara (Ron) Brisson of Clawson, eight grandchildren, Andrew High, Kathryn Gifford, Erik Davey, Alex Harmon, T.J. and Donna Mae Anderson, and Bryan and Aaron Brisson, one sister, Maureen (Ron) Kinney of Waterford, one sister-in-law, Sue Henderson of Lapeer, and by his faithful canine companion, Lucy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kaye on June 21, 2008. There will be a memorial service at the Burger Wiedbrauk VFW Hall in Barton City, on July 26, 2015 at 1:00 P.M.
