Lee Francis Herrera, 69, of Stillwater, OK, formerly of Oscoda, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Stillwater Medical Center. Born June 5, 1945 to Merton and Phoebe (Miller) Shales in Detroit, MI, she was raised in New Boston, MI. On January 15, 1977, she married Miguel Herrera in Pinconning, where they resided for a short time before moving to Oscoda. Lee was a talented chef, who was known for her prime rib and desserts. She worked at the AuSable Inn and the Packhouse, and owned and operated Leabell’s Coney Island in Oscoda. She loved adventure, and her grandchildren, and especially enjoyed gardening and flowers. Miguel preceded her in death on August 25, 2013. In 2014 Lee moved to Stillwater to be with her family. She is survived by eight children, Jeff (Karen) Shales of Port Smith, OH, Lisa (Donald) Thebo of Shelby MI, Kimberly (James) Hosier of Edmond OK, Daniel (Teresa) Morrison of Lake City, FL, Michael (Sherry) Herrera, Timothy Herrera, David (Crystal) Herrera and David Parzych all of Stillwater, OK, 24 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three infant children, Kathy, Nichole, and Evelyn Herrera, two sisters, and one brother. Mrs. Herrera is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where friends may call on Tuesday, June 2, from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 P.M.
