Richard J. Blaszak, 70, of Harrisville, died Friday, May 22, 2015 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born May 4, 1945 to Carl and Mary (Rojek) Blaszak in Detroit, MI, he was raised there. On October 14, 1967, he married Rose Domenick in Warren, and they were residents of East Detroit before moving to Warren. Richard worked in parts distribution for Ford Motor Company in Redford, MI, for 32 years, retiring in 1998 to Harrisville. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed nature, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of “The Fishing Regulars” who met every June in Hubbard Lake to fish. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening, and woodworking. He was a sports aficionado, he played baseball, and loved watching the Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, and Pistons. He is survived by his wife, Rose, two daughters, Lisa (Ron) Ayer and Michele (Jeff) Grove, three grandchildren, Karly (Nick) Humphrey, and Emmy and Evan Grove, one brother, Gerald (Bernie) Blaszak, one sister-in-law, Kathyann (Andy) Keiper and two brothers-in-law, Ernest (Julie) and Michael (Antoinette) Domenick, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mr. Blaszak is at Gillies Funeral Home, Harrisville, where friends may call on Tuesday, May 26, from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M., with a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, May 27 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville from 9:30 until the funeral mass at 10:30 A.M. Rev. Robert Bissot will officiate.
