Frederick LaVergne Jr

Frederick J. LaVergne Jr, age 77, of Black River passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Lincoln Haven Nursing and Rehab Community. He was born April 17, 1938 in Black River to Frederick J. and Margaret LaVergne. Raised in Black River, he served in the US Marines for four years and then moved to Bay City. He was an auto mechanic for Dunlop Pontiac of Bay City for many years. He married Lois LaFave on March 7, 1970. They moved to Black River in 1983. Lois preceded him in death on September 15, 2005. Fred enjoyed many sports, including fishing. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren compete in High School Sports. He is survived by three daughters, Angie (Tracie Beebee) of Lincoln, Kelly Schaefer and Debbie Zawicki, both of Bay City, one son, Edward (Renee) of Lincoln, eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, three sisters, Tracy Maviglia of Harrisville, Karen (Doug) Mills and Claire (Patrick Strzelecki) Whitten both of Grand Rapids and one brother, David of Grand Rapids. One daughter, Melanie Moreno, preceded him in death. No services are planned. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
