Ida E. McCurdy

Ida McCurdy, 91, of Harrisville, Passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at home. She was born August 22, 1923 in Detroit to Walter Kurt and Ella Victoria (Dockstader) Dalwitz. Ida married Earl McCurdy on August 20, 1943. They were residents of Detroit moving to Harrisville in 1960. She was employed as the Alcona Probate Court Administrator, retiring after 31 years. She was a member of the Harrisville United Methodist Church and its Women’s group. She is survived by three sons, Walter (Teresa Marie Landers) of Commerce Twp., MI, Daniel W. of Harrisville MI and Peter G. of Bath MI; Seven grandchildren, Michael (Karla),Kurtis (Katie), Megan, Brett and Monica McCurdy, Sandra (John) Bogue and Danielle (Michael) Hall and three great grandsons, Maxwell and Harrison Frankfort and Nicholas McCurdy. Her husband preceded her in death on May 22, 1988. Her son George R. McCurdy preceded her in death in 2003. Memorial visitation will take place from 11:00 A.M. until the memorial service at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Gillies Funeral Home, Harrisville. Rev. Mary Soderholm and Rev. Claire Duncan will officiate. Inurnment will take place at West Lawn Cemetery, Harrisville later in the spring. Memorials suggested to Hospice Advantage.
