John C. Swalley

John C. Swalley, 65, of Mikado, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at St. Mary’s of Saginaw. Born May 1, 1949 to Robert C. Sr. and Irene (Smithers) Swalley in Bryan, Ohio, he was raised there and in Canton, MI. He served in the US Army. On April 4, 1986, he married Barbara Gauthier in Wayne. Residents of Canton, John worked for Animal Control for the Canton Police Department. In 1990, they moved to Mikado. John loved the out of doors, especially camping, and working on his tractor. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, one daughter, Karen Swalley of Alabama, two sons, John C, Swalley II of Oklahoma, and Kevin Swalley of Florida, three grandchildren, one sister, Vicki Rokita, and two brothers, Ralph and Jerry Swalley. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Swalley. Mr. Swalley is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Wednesday March 11, 2015 from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 3:00 PM. Rev. Lawrence Boks will officiate.
