William Earl Wietfeld

William Earl Wietfeld Jr., 73 of Harrisville, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born August 24, 1941 to William Sr. and Dorothy (Nalls) Wietfeld in Detroit, he was raised there. Bill served in the United States Marine Corps. After his discharge in 1964, he attended the University of Detroit. On February 24, 1996, he married Mary Lou Evans in Westland, MI, and they were residents of Canton. He worked as an account manager with Ford Motor Company for 35 years, until his retirement in 2000. After his retirement, he moved to Harrisville. Bill was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Harrisville, where he was a former Deacon. He was past president of the Board of Directors of the Alcona Humane Society, and a member of the Harrisville Lions Club. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed travelling on his Gold Wing. Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, his daughter, Lisa (Tim) Emery of South Lyon, two grandchildren, Christopher and Ashley Emery, and his brother, Terry Wietfeld of Livonia. Private services have been held. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorial donations are suggested to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 201 North Second Street, Harrisville, MI 48740.
