Lawrence Ray Kuenzli

Lawrence Ray Kuenzli age 89 of Mikado died Sunday, December 25, 2005 at the AuSable Valley Community Home in Fairview. Lawrence was born October, 18, 1916 in Mikado to Arthur and Clara (Moore) Kunezli and was raised there. He served in the Army in WWII and married Verna M. Lee on April 16, 1947. A lifelong resident of Mikado, he loved to Hunt and Fish and attended Calvary Baptist Church of Mikado. He was employed as Lumber yard manager by the Ace Hardware of Oscoda for 40 years. Survivors include his wife and two daughters, Donna (Bruce) Baumler of Alpena and Carol (Malcom) McDougall of Glennie; two sons, David (Phyllis) of Kissimmee FL., and Tim (Jan) of Mt. Pleasant;; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn Ellis of Oscoda and Luella Kuenzli of Oscoda; one brother Irving of Tawas. One sister and seven brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Rev. Douglas Taipalus officiated.
