Ellen M. Kruttlin

Ellen M. Kruttlin, age 92 of Lincoln, died Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born September 18, 1913 in Pine River (Mikado) Michigan to John and Mae (Hayward) Rickert, she was raised there. Ellen married Claud Emil Kruttlin on Sept. 6, 1936. He preceded her in death in 1939. She taught school at the Glennie, Curran and the Hunky Grade schools before becoming an elementary teacher in Oscoda from 1957 until retiring in 1979. She moved to Lincoln in 1971 from Mikado. Ellen was a member of the Sunnyside Methodist Church of Curran, the Lincoln United Methodist Church, and The Order of Eastern Star, Lincoln Chapter 184, where she was past worthy matron, a Rainbow Girls advisor and the Alcona Iosco Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include a son, Monty (Noreen) Kruttlin of Harrisville, five grandchildren Keith, Fred, Claud, Allen and Sierra and several great grandchildren, three sisters, Aleta Lane, Scandia MI, Nellie Wheatley, Hemlock, MI, and Leota Collins, Ten Mile Tenn. And one brother Richard Rickert of Mikado. She was preceded in death by a son, Emil in 1994, a grandson, Phillip in 1979, a sister Harriet Lilley and three brothers, Clyde, Harry and Jack Rickert. She is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where friends may call from 6-9 P.M. on Monday December 19, and on Tuesday, December 20, from 4- 9 P.M.. There will be an Order of Eastern service at the funeral home Tuesday at 7 P.M.. The funeral will be Wednesday, December 21, at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M., Rev. Brenda Klacking officiating.
