Alexina L. Jack

Alexina L. Jack, age 95 of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Turning Brook Assisted Living of Alpena. She was born March 12, 1919 in Mikado to Albert and Mary Ann (Emerick) Broadwood. She graduated from Oscoda High School in 1937 and was trained as a teacher at Alcona County Normal and Ferris Institute. Alexina married Harold “Bud” Jack on June 29, 1949. They were long time Lincoln residents. Harold preceded her in death in 1984. She taught in two one room country schools, and was the last teacher at the Bailey School. She worked as a secretary at the Alcona County Road Commission, and completed her career as the secretary at Lincoln Elementary School, retiring in 1986. Alexina is survived by her daughter, Mary Weber of Kalamazoo, her son Jim Jack of Hubbard Lake, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her son Wayne Jack and grandson, Matthew Weber preceded her in death. The funeral service for Mrs. Jack will be Saturday, April 26, 2014, 2:00 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.Rev. Nancy Harpfer will officiate. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln.
