Edwin Eugene Goddard

June 18, 1920 — September 5, 2013

Edwin Eugene Goddard of Mikado, MI passed away September 5, 2013 peacefully from the arms of his loving family to the loving arms of His Lord. He was a loving and faithful husband to Marjorie Goddard for 62 years, who preceded him in death on January 16, 2003. He was preceded in death by an infant son, grandson, Scott Fraser, a great grandson, three brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his children, Gary and Helen Goddard of Black River, MI, Judy and Alan Fraser of Black River, MI, and David and Terry Goddard of Davison, MI. Surviving grandchildren are Jeff (Shelly) Goddard, Steven Goddard, Jenny (Dave) Myers, Chris (Debbie) Fraser, Wendy (Ken) Cooper, Amy (Paul) Gossett, Heidi (Wade) Yocum, Matthew (Andrea) Goddard, Emily (Matt) Lemieux, and Noah Goddard, along with 25 great grandchildren. Edwin was a farmer in Mikado, MI and then moved to Flint, MI in 1953 where he retired from GM AC Spark Plug in 1982. He moved to Black River, Mi following the death of his wife in 2003. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado, MI. He was an avid hunter, an active bowler until age 90 and loved to be with his family. He was a wonderful father, provider, and example of Christ’s redeeming grace. He was a man of quiet and uncompromising faith that lived his life as a servant leader to his spouse, family, and church. Funeral Services will be September 7, at Calvary Baptist Church, Mikado MI at 1:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Mt. Joy Cemetery, in Haynes Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Mikado MI. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. A special thank you to Tendercare Alpena, for their compassionate care.
