Madeline L. Porter, 94, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2005 at Tendercare of Alpena. Born on September 25, 1911, to John and Mary (Muhvich) Martinac in Rockvale, Colorado, she was raised in Montana. A short time resident of Detroit, she married John Porter in November of 1936, and they moved to Birmingham. In 1969, they retired to Dade City Florida, where she lived until moving to Harrisville in 2000. Madeline was a devoted homemaker, who loved to work in her garden. She is survived by two daughters; Janice Bernard of Strongsville, OH, and Mary Ellen Wubbe of Naples, FL, six grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981. Mrs. Porter is at the Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will take place from 10 AM until the funeral at 1 PM, on Tuesday, October 4, 2005, Rev. Laraine Sundin officiating. Ashes will be interred at Chapel Hill Gardens, in Dade City Florida. Memorials suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
