Herbert W. Coppler, 93, of Oscoda died Sunday, September 25, 2005 at home. Born March 19, 1912 in Oscoda to Franklin and Laura (Wright) Coppler, he married Grace Elizabeth Schlienz in Bay City on July 24, 1937. Bay City residents for a short time they moved to Oscoda in 1942. Herbert was employed by the Loud Company as a care taker starting in 1944, and worked for them in many capacities until 1979. He was also employed by Parts Manufacturing of Harrisville for ten years and was a custodian for the Oscoda Schools from 1964 until 1974. Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Caroline Marie (Terry) Doppler of Plainville IN., two sons, Paul (Verna) Coppler of West Branch, and Kenneth (Cheri) Coppler of Oscoda, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, a sister, Dorothy Thayer of Hale and a brother, Walter (Margaret) Coppler of Bloomington N.M... No services are scheduled for Mr. Coppler. Arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
