Ruth Annette London, 74, of Mikado, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 at her home. Born January 7, 1937 in Kalamazoo, she was raised there by her parents; Jacob and Flora (Reinbold) Westra. On January 14, 1956, she married Leon R. London (Gy Sgt U.S.M.C. Ret.) in Kalamazoo, where they were residents until moving to Mikado in 1979. A devoted homemaker; Ruth was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Oscoda V.F.W Auxiliary #3735, the American Legion Mikado Post #254, the Barton City F.O.E. Aerie #4141, and a lifetime member of the Mikado Goodfellows. Ruth is survived by her husband; Leon, three daughters; Ruth Ann (Pat) Crill, Diane London, and Flora (Ken) Spears of Kalamazoo, three sons; James London of Oscoda, Dale (Debbie) London of Kalamazoo, and Richard London of Harrisville, 11 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, five sisters; Henrietta Johnson and Sylvia Westra of Kalamazoo, Marjorie (Al) Thomas of Vicksburg, Connie Westra of Schoolcraft, and Lena Roberts, three brothers; Jacob (Nancy) Westra of Grand Haven, Martin (Rose) Westra of Portage, and Mike (Sue) Westra. She was preceded in death by her grandson; Jimmy Douglas, five sisters; Anne Ritesma, Jerry Cole, Gert Reinbold, Betty Pollard, and Jenny Westra, and one brother; Fred Westra. Mrs. London is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Monday from 6 until 9 pm and on Tuesday from 2 until 6 pm. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mikado Cemetery. Memorials suggested to Hospice of Michigan.
